Australian Marshmallows

Today I slept in and lounged around. I was getting motivated to do homework when some of my friends called to see if I wanted to go get coffee. So around 11 we took off. We went to a nice little cafe beside the Swan River. I don't really like nor drink coffee so I got hot chocolate. They got cappuccinos. I received my hot chocolate in a regular glass with a napkin tied around it. I thought this seemed odd, everyone else got a regular coffee mug. It came with a thick layer of foam instead of whipped cream and two marshmallows on the side, one white and one pink. The marshmallows had a hard crusty outside and when opened up a creamy and very sticky inside. They also smelled fruity and tasted quite different than our. After talking about it, it was revealed that yes that is indeed how all marshmallows in Australia are. White and pink with a tough outside and creamy sticky inside.

Around 12:30 or so my friends took off to go see the Fremantle Dockers VS the West Coast Sharks in a game of Footy. These are the two teams in the state of Western Australia. Apparently it is a big deal. I didn't go because they already had tickets (which were pretty pricey to begin with) and the game was sold out. But that is fine. I came back and chatted on skype with people for a while.

I then decided to watch a movie on my external hard drive that I got from Matt before I left the US. I watch a movie called "The Island" it was getting really good and really intense and all of a sudden the time ran out. Somehow I only got half of the movie! So I was a little bummed that I didn't get to see the rest of it. I will have to see if any of my friends happen to have that movie.

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. I did some food microbiology homework and watched some TV. I did make plans to go snorkeling next weekend!! I'm pretty darn excited about that. Hopefully the warm weather holds up. It has been starting to get chilly these past couple of weeks.
